Louise Gets Award!

Photo of Louise HaimowitzCongratulations, Louise!  2011 Social Worker of the Year as voted by the Boulder Region of the National Association of Social Workers!  You are the best, and we love you!

Did you know?  Louise Haimowitz has worked in Boulder County since 1985 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, primarily with high risk families as a clinician, a supervisor and a community educator.  She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Services and Parent Education at Parenting Place, where she oversees clinical operations, including 27 weekly parent support groups, one on one counseling with high needs families, parenting education and the clinical supervision of staff and interns.  She also provides consultation and education to affiliate agencies and community groups on parenting issues.  Additionally, she is an Adjunct Faculty member at Metro State College’s Graduate School of Social Work, teaching clinical practice skills to first year social work students.  Louise has prior work experience with the Community Infant Program through the Mental Health Center of Boulder County, where for 13 years she worked with families at risk for abuse, neglect, attachment disorders and failure to thrive.  She was both a family therapist and the liaison between CIP and social service agencies, coordinating referrals and intakes into the program.  Prior to that she was Outpatient Coordinator of the Women’s Recovery Program, in what is now the Mapleton Rehabilitation Center.  She oversaw all clinical services to outpatient clients with multiple addictions, supervised the multi-disciplinary staff, and provided “Addiction Education” to families and community groups.  Over the past 20 years she has greatly enjoyed supervising graduate school interns and was honored to be nominated as Supervisor of the Year by her 2010 and 2011 interns from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.

Wow! That’s awesome.
